The SOG Tomahawk model FO1T-N represents the best value in the tactical tomahawk market. These tools are usually meant for breaching operations, obstacle removal and extraction missions but they also work well on campsites hammering in tent stakes and hacking scrape wood into smaller pieces. Its head is made of 420 stainless steel with a 2 and 3/4 inch edge on it and has a black oxide scratch resistant slightly shinny coating which prevents corrosion . The handle is made of a strong and durable polymer and has a hole in it for an optional lanyard should you desire to attach one. The tomahawk is well balanced and weighs only 24 ounces and is about 15 to 16 inches long for easy handling and deployment. The fusion tactical tomahawk comes with a nylon sheath that simply snaps together to cover the blade and it has a belt loop on it as well for easy carrying and added safety. One side functions as a mini axe while the other side is more like a pick axe/hammer… The side of the head has a beveled textured checkerboard surface for use as a hammering surface. The handle has a ferrule made of steel which prevents it from being split.
